NOTICEBOARD

April 20, 2018

COUNCIL AT WORK — RENEWAL WORK ON LOW-LEVEL BRIDGE Cowra’s Low-Level Bridge will be closed for four days in early May for the replacement of damaged decking. The work — which will also include re-tightening the timber structure of the bridge — will be carried-out roughly between the hours of 7–4pm each day. The work starts on Tuesday, May 1 and continues until Friday, May 4 — allowing for minimal delays and reasonable weather. The low-level bridge was constructed on the current site in 1938 with Council regularly renewing and replacing the running deck due to vehicle traffic wear-and-tear and damage from local flooding.

RECYCLING MATTERS Handy hints from your Tidy Towns Committee — REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE Take lids off plastic bottles before recycling — they can trap liquid (making bottles heavier so that automatic sorting machines won’t process them properly). They can also trap air which can make the bottles pop back into shape when they are baled with the bale then falling-apart (with extra energy required for re-baling).
