NOTICEBOARD LACHLAN VALLEY WAY IMPROVEMENTS Roadwork has commenced on the Lachlan Valley Way. The work will run for approximately two weeks and includes widening and pavement strengthening from the overhead railway bridge though to the Midwestern Hwy. AIRPORT EMERGENCY PLAN The Cowra Local Emergency Management Committee met at Council last week to undertake a discussion exercise on the response and recovery operations to a major incident at the Cowra Airport, and to gauge the effectiveness of the Airport Emergency Plan. Representatives from NSW Police, Fire, SES, RFS, Health and Ambulance Services along with Council staff participated. Heavy Patching Pavement Maintenance Works - Macquarie Street

Cowra Shire Ratepayers - Overdue Rate Instalments

Council will be undertaking heavy patching pavement maintenance works in Macquarie St between Kendal St and Vaux St, on the weekend of 7-8 July 2018.

The fourth and final rate instalment for the current rate year ending 30 June 2018 was due for payment on 31 May 2018. If you have overlooked this repayment, interest will be accruing at the current rate of 7.5% per annum. Anyone who has outstanding rates and has not previously made an arrangement with Council should contact Council’s Revenue Officer, Peter Reeves on tel: 63402028 or by email at: preeves@cowra.nsw.gov.au to avoid any further recovery action.

The works are being undertaken by a contractor between the hours of 7am and 5pm. Please take care when travelling through these and all roadwork worksites.

Grazing Licence Opportunity At Cowra Pursuant to the provisions of Section 34 of the Crown Lands Act 1989, Cowra Shire Council is currently seeking applications from the public for an opportunity to licence a Crown Reserve at Cowra. The Crown Reserve is located on the corner of Lachlan Valley Way, being part Lot 7012 DP 1125530 Parish Mulyan County Forbes. Any interested party should obtain an ‘Information Package’ from Cowra Shire Council. Applications for grazing licence opportunity will close at 4.30pm, Tuesday 3 July 2018.

Community Funding Opportunities Small Environmental Projects

CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS REOPENS SATURDAY 21 JULY

Cowra Shire Council’s Natural Resources Management Advisory Committee is currently seeking expressions of interest from schools, community groups and organisations interested in undertaking small environmental projects that make a positive difference to the natural living environment in the Cowra Shire. Interested applicants are invited to submit proposals outlining their project. Projects with an educational component and joint projects with other community groups are encouraged.
