COUNCIL AT WORK — VACUUM CLEANING LEAKING WATER MAINS Repairing and replacing broken and damaged water mains in Cowra is now easier with Cowra Council’s vacuum excavation trailer at work. The trailer was recently used to access a leaking water-main in Elizabeth Ave, north Cowra without the need for an excavator. The innovative trailer uses the same mechanical principles as a home vacuum cleaner to suction-up loose earth around a damaged pipe without endangering electrical and telephony cables in the vicinity. As well as saving time, this technique also disturbs the soil far less with the recovery time of green strips and parkland areas greatly reduced.
