NOTICEBOARD COUNCIL AT WORK — HEAVY PATCHING ON DARBYS FALLS ROAD Council is currently undertaking major heavy patching pavement maintenance works on sections of Darbys Falls Road. The works involve heavy earth-moving equipment including a heavy pulviriser which mixes the stabilising agent into the existing pavement to a depth of 20cm. The mixed material is then compacted, trimmed and eventually bitumen-sealed before respraying of safety lines. The work is continuing with travellers through these works — and at all Council roadwork-sites — asked to drive to the conditions and to be aware of heavy equipment and Council staff.

Years of dedicated planning, fundraising and commitment came to fruition this week with the opening of the initial stages of the Cowra Nature-Based Adventure Playground.
Representatives of the Playground committee, the Cowra Services Club, the Cowra Men’s Shed, Councillors and Council staff were onsite at Bellevue Hill to unveil a new sundial, a lookout facing North West and the installation of a new table and chairs set, restored by the Cowra Men’s Shed, as part of the Stage One works. “Congratulations must go to the Cowra NatureBased Adventure Playground Committee for the exceptional work they’ve put into getting the initial work to completion. Council now looks forward to working with the committee on the remaining stages,”
Cowra Mayor, Councillor Bill West said. Funding of the initial works in the Cowra NatureBased Adventure Playground was supported via Cowra Council, the NSW ClubGRANTS program via Cowra Services Club and significant fundraising and donations from the Cowra Shire community.
