Cowra Council Traineeship Program Closing Monday 12 November 2018

The Cowra Breakout Association in conjunction with the Cowra Peace Bell Committee will hold a small ceremony at the Peace Bell in Darling Street at 10 am on 11 November 2018 to commemorate the end of hostilities in World War One and reflect on Cowra’s involvement in promoting world peace. The ceremony will conclude by 10.30 am to enable those attending to move to the Cenotaph in Brisbane Street for the main service. Please join bagpipers at 5 pm on 11 November at the Cowra Peace Bell as they play The Battle’s O’er as part of an international commemoration to mark the signing of the Armistice in World War One. Australia’s participation in the international commemoration is being coordinated by Pipe Bands Australia and is timed to coincide with pipers in Britain and across Europe playing The Battle’s O’er at the time the Armistice was signed at 6 am in the Northern Hemisphere.
