IT’S BACK! INFLATABLE FUN AT AQUATIC CENTRE...
RMS MOVES WEST COWRA WORK TO NIGHT WORK DUE TO “UNACCEPTABLE” DELAYS Cowra Mayor, Councillor Bill West has welcomed the move of major road works in west Cowra to night work due to lengthy traffic delays caused by the project on Monday. “The works caused unacceptable delays to people going to work, taking children to school, and for essential services in the district; Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) are to be thanked for listening to our concerns,” Cr West said. The remediation road-works being carried out by RMS contractors on the Grenfell Rd/ Boorowa Rd intersection saw the Cowra Bridge reduced to one-lane under traffic control and the low-level bridge closed for the day. “This led to lengthy delays for traffic in both directions and substantial frustration for motorists; if one good has come out of this, it is to show the importance of the lowlevel bridge in keeping the volume of traffic flowing through Cowra at this juncture of the Lachlan River,” Cr West said. The RMS has therefore moved all work on the project to night-time to reduce the inconvenience for locals and other traffic management issues around this intersection.
