FIRE HAZARD? CALL RURAL FIRE SERVICE! The Central West’s warm, dry winter and continuing dry spring has left much of the district dangerously-dry for the coming summer. Cowra residents are reminded that Cowra Council should not be the first point of contact for reporting excessive grass fuel loads on local properties. Under the terms of the Rural Fires Act 1997, the Rural Fire Service is charged with taking action on land that presents a Fire Hazard to the community. The local number for the Canobolas Rural Fire Service is 6363 6666.
VICEROY’S HOUSE (PG) 2.00pm, Sunday 8 October Tickets: $15 Concession, $20 Adults Full afternoon tea included The final Viceroy of India, Lord Mountbatten, has to oversee the transition of British India to independence but meets with conflict as the sides clash in the face of monumental changes. Downstairs in the servants quarters, Mountbatten's new manservant, Jeet, falls for the daughter's assistant, Alia, and all manner of obstacles are put in their way. The Cowra Premiere Cinema will be closed during the upcoming School Holidays due to refurbishments in the Civic Centre foyer. Our apologies for any inconvenience.
Pictured right; First port-of-call for dangerous fire conditions should always be the local Rural Fire Service on 6363 6666.
