TICKETS NOW ON SALE FOR SEPTEMBER WAR MEMORIAL TRIP!
Cowra Council is helping the local community commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the Great War with a series of trips to the War Memorial in Canberra. Residents and ratepayers of Cowra Shire can buy their tickets for the next trip to be held on Tuesday, 18 September for only $10 at Cowra Council. Council is subsidising the cost of the trips with a top-line coach from Cowra Bus Service picking-up attendees from the Peace Bell, with a guided tour of the War Memorial in Canberra, and coming back to Cowra that afternoon. Council will also provide morning tea for all passengers on arrival at the War Memorial. With limited places available, now’s the time to get your tickets that are only available at the Customer Service Centre of Cowra Council at 116 Kendal St. Tickets must be paid for at the time of purchase, either with cash, EFTPOS, or cheque, with the Customer Service Centre, Monday–Friday, 8.30am–4.30pm. Note that those attending should confirm at the time of purchase whether they wish to take a guided tour of the Memorial. These tours are being funded by Cowra Council, but guides require numbers for booking purposes. Council will host the third and final trip for the year in October.

At the Ordinary Council meeting of Monday 27 August 2018, it was resolved that in accordance with section 356 of the Local Government Act, Council give notice of its intention to provide financial assistance up to $58,363.64 to the Cowra Business Chamber for a two year period to assist in establishing a Cowra Business Hub. Submissions on this matter should be addressed to the General Manager and be received by 4.30pm on 28 September 2018.
Footpath Construction Underway Council has commenced work on a new footpath from Binni Creek Rd along the north side of Comerford St to the current cycleway/footpath in London Drive. Works are expected to take between two and three weeks weather permitting. Access across the reserve in Comerford St will be restricted to allow construction and curing.
