Middy Nakajima from IEC Oceania Pty Ltd was joined by Eloise Newell from Holmwood Public School to undertake a special tree planting on Evans St recently with Mayor Bill West.

Cowra’s Cherry Tree Avenue was a Bicentennial project started in 1988 to commemorate Cowra’s enduring links with Japan. The program involves Japanese sponsors and local children having groves of cherry trees planted on Sakura Ave, Evans St, Binni Creek Rd, and Doncaster Drive.

Council will be undertaking heavy patching pavement maintenance works in Macquarie St between Kendal St and Vaux St, on the weekend of 7-8 July 2018. RE-ADVERTISED Expressions of Interest — Festival Coordinator Council is calling for Expressions of Interest for a Festival Coordinator to undertake the development and delivery of the Cowra Festival of International Understanding in 2019, 2020 and 2021 in conjunction with Council. The Festival is the premier annual festival in Cowra and showcases the culture of a different Guest Nation each year. It incorporates exhibitions, a Festival Parade, a Festival Carnival and various civic and community
based functions. Council is seeking to ensure that this significant event is afforded the focus that it requires. The Festival Coordinator will work as part of a team and report directly to the General Manager. Details can be found at www.cowracouncil.com.au and the Council Customer Service Centre.
