NOTICEBOARD ADOPT A POUND PET Cowra Council’s “Adopt a Pound Pet” Program provides you the opportunity to offer a loving home to dogs and cats currently placed at Cowra Pound. The program aims to reduce the euthanasia of cats and dogs that are brought to the Pound with no identification; Pound animals that are adopted are micro-chipped by Council to reduce the cost of registration by the new owner.

COUNCIL DONATION TO LOCAL HOCKEY STAR! Cowra Council recently donated $600 to assist local girl, Jade Te Weehi’s NSW Hockey Girls Invitational Tour of New Zealand in late September.

Council also offers a trial period of two-weeks to ensure that the animal is well-suited to its new environment before the animal is registered. To adopt a Cowra Pound Animal, you only need to pay the following registration fees: • $201 for undesexed dog or cat • $55 for undesexed dog or cat owned by a registered breeder • $55 for a desexed dog or cat • $23 for a desexed dog or cat owned by an eligible pensioner. • $27.50 for a desexed animal sold by an eligible pound or shelter • $55 for an undesexed animal under 6 months

SILKIE’S FOR SALE! Cowra Council is calling for expressions of interest to purchase two Silkie Roosters that were recently surrendered to the Council. Anyone interested in purchasing the roosters must complete an “Item(s) for Sale” Form at Council’s Kendal Street Office from 8.30am on Friday, September 8 until 4.30pm on Wednesday, September 13. Bridge Naming Proposal Notice is hereby given that Cowra Shire Council, as Consent Authority under the Roads Act 1993, is proposing to name the bridge over Crowther Creek on the road between Koorawatha and Greenethorpe. Details of the bridge naming proposal have been set out in Schedule 1 below. Cowra Shire Council is the Bridge Naming Authority. The plans relating to the bridge naming proposal to which this notice refers may be viewed at Cowra Shire Council’s Customer Service Centre, 116 Kendal Street, Cowra between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday (Public Holidays excepted) or on Council’s website www.cowracouncil.com.au Any person may make a written submission to Cowra Shire Council about the proposed road renaming before 4.30pm on 22/9/2017. Written submissions should be addressed to The General Manager, Cowra Shire Council, Private Bag 342, Cowra NSW 2794. To assist Council, please include the reference to the bridge naming proposal with the written submission. The content of written submissions may be included in a report to Council. Council is subject to the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 and copies of written submissions may be made available to any person entitled to lodge an application under this legislation.
