Get in now! Cowra Community Grants Scheme applications close Tuesday! Now’s the last chance for Cowra Shire community groups in need of new equipment or improvements to get their aplication in for a Cowra Community Grant!

Applications close this Tuesday, February 28 for Round Two of the $50,000 Scheme that is open to eligible individuals and community groups within Cowra Shire, Cowra Council General Manager, Paul Devery said. “The response to Round One of the Community Grant Program last year was very positive, with over $24,000 in funding awarded to 22 very deserving community projects,” Mr Devery said. “But you have to put in an application to have a chance, now’s the time to think about what your local group needs, and to have a go.” Successful applicants in Round One Grants were for a variety of important local projects including money for mattresses to needy families; film-making and musical workshops; restoration and repair work on community buildings; and helping local sports clubs to upgrade their equipment: Groups applying must be not-for-profit and either based in Cowra Shire or propose a project that directly benefits the local community. Applicants that were successful in Round One of the Community Grants Program are able to apply again under Round Two, provided they have submitted their acquittal report.

Applicants are eligible to receive up to a total value of $3,000 in grant funds per financial year. Application forms and guidelines are available at Council’s website: www.cowracouncil.com.au and at Council’s front desk at 116 Kendal St, Cowra. For more information, contact Cowra Council’s Grants and Executive Projects Officer, Lawrance Ryan on 6340 2035 or email: lryan@cowra.nsw.gov.au.
