Cowra Council is developing a Disability Inclusion Action Plan to make Cowra Shire, including its villages, as inclusive, connected and welcoming as possible for people of all ages with disability or who experience a chronic or mental health condition. You are invited to complete a survey to help determine the actions that will make a difference to improving access in the community. The licence for Cowra Saleyard Kiosk is available to anyone with an eye for a great commercial opportunity. “This is an established, successful business and we are looking for someone to take-up the licence at one of the busiest and best-run saleyards in rural NSW,” General Manager, Paul Devery said. “Cowra Saleyards brings buyers and sellers from throughout NSW with the kiosk business a major draw-card for this facility,” Mr Devery said. Road closures for Festival of International Understanding Darling St Road Closure for Festival Event — Friday 24 March
Residents are advised that Darling Street from the Kendal Street intersection to the Bartlett Avenue intersection will be closed to through traffic from 5pm to 7.30pm on Friday 24 March. The purpose of this road closure is to accommodate the annual Festival Peace Ceremony and Opening Reception that takes place in the vicinity of the Civic Centre and the Peace Bell. Access to the Cowra Regional Art Gallery Car Park will still be available. Council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
Road Closures for Festival Parade — Saturday 25 March
The trips are with Cowra Bus Service on Wednesday, March 15 and Thursday, March 16. Both trips depart from the Cowra Peace Bell in Darling Street at 9.30am and return at 2.30pm. The Spirit of Anzac Centenary Experience is Australia’s flagship community event of the Anzac centenary. It has been touring 23 locations around Australia and brings to life an infant Australia still finding its feet on the eve of war. It follows in the footsteps of our soldiers, sailors, airmen and nurses throughout the campaign, including a commemoration of Australia’s century of service. Driven by artefacts from the Australian War Memorial, the Experience also integrates interactive environments, special effects and more to tell Australia’s story in new and engaging ways. The trip includes return travel to Orange and entry to the Exhibition. Lunch will be at the traveller’s own expense. Residents are advised that the following streets will be closed to traffic from 11am until approximately 12:45pm on Saturday 25 March: • Darling Street from Brougham to Kendal Street • Kendal Street from Darling to Macquarie Street • Macquarie Street from Kendal to Vaux Street • Vaux Street from Macquarie to Lachlan Street • Carobean Avenue from Lachlan Street to end The purpose of this road closure is for the 2017 Cowra Festival Parade which will be featuring in the main street. Floats will be marshalling at the Brougham Park end of Darling St at 11:30am, and this section of Darling St between Brougham St and Denman St will be closed to through traffic whilst the marshalling takes place. The parade will move off at 12:00pm along Darling St, and into Kendal St. The parade will then turn left into Macquarie St and right into Vaux St, terminating at River Park via Carobean Avenue. The Festival Carnival will take place at River Park (from approximately 1:00pm till 6:00pm). Whilst the road closure is underway a bypass along College Drive, Liverpool and Lachlan Street will be in place for through traffic. Council apologises for any inconvenience during this time, and encourages all Cowra residents to participate in this community event.

The purpose of this road closure is for the 2017 Cowra Festival ‘Colour Me Happy’ Run.
