Collection in Focus: New Aquisitions

Cowra Driver Reviver opens! Cowra Mayor, Councillor Bill West recently officially opened Cowra’s newly-constructed Driver Reviver canteen at Edgell Park.

Cr West said that local volunteers operating Cowra’s Driver Reviver have provided tea, coffee, and biscuits to travellers over a number of years to promote regular rest periods. He said that this has no doubt helped to reduce the road toll in country Australia for the 26 years the program has run. The new building was funded with the support of Cowra Council, the NRMA, the Estate of the late John Davis, Cowra Services Club, Cowra Antique Vehicle Club, and Roads and Maritime Services.
