Mains replacement in Fitzroy Street

Major works to close Busby Place Car Park

Cowra Council will be undertaking important repair work on the upper level of Busby Place Car Park requiring temporary closure of the carpark this weekend.

This work to the existing box drains at the car park will require closure of the upper levels of the facility to shoppers from 6am on Saturday, May 27 until 7am on Monday May 29. A Variable Message Sign (VMS) Board at the site will also notify residents of the closure. For more information, contact Cowra Council’s Infrastructure and Operations Department on 6340 2070.

Cowra Council’s Draft Disability Inclusion Action Plan is now on public exhibition until Tuesday, June 20.

Council is inviting the public to comment on the Draft Plan with copies on public display in the foyer of Cowra Shire Council, 116 Kendal Street Cowra during office hours and is also available to download via the “Public Exhibition” page of Council’s website at: cowracouncil.com.au Copies are also available for viewing at Cowra Library. All submissions regarding the Disability Inclusion Action Plan must be made to the General Manager, in writing to: Cowra Shire Council, Private Bag 342, Cowra 2794 or via email to council@cowra.nsw.gov.au For more information, call Kate Alberry, Director Environmental Services, Cowra Council on 6340 2040.

Cowra Council will be starting water main replacement works in Fitzroy Street, Cowra (between Brougham and Argoon Streets) from Monday, May 29 for approximately three weeks. Access to private residences/properties will be maintained wherever possible during works, and it is recommended that vehicles are not parked on the street. Interruptions to the water supply will be required to facilitate the change-over, however residents will be given notice prior to any instances where the water supply must be temporarily turned-off. Residents and motorists are also advised that there may be minor disruptions/changes to traffic conditions during this work. Council will have traffic control measures in place during this period and all temporary signage and traffic control measures should be followed. Council apologises for the inconvenience this project may cause while this important work is undertaken. For more information, call Cowra Council Infrastructure and Operations on 6340 2070.

Road closure for Cowra Eisteddfod Cowra residents are advised that Darling Street (between Kendal Street and Bartlett Street) will be closed to general traffic over the coming weekend. The closure will run from 6.30am on Saturday, May 27 until 11pm on Sunday, May 28 due to expected large crowds attending the Cowra Eisteddfod.

Expressions of Interest Cowra Shire Council’s “Virtual Museum” Working Party

Expressions of Interest are invited from interested individuals for three community member positions on the Cowra Council Virtual Museum Working Party. This will be a voluntary role for approximately one year. Over the next 12 months Council, through the Virtual Museum Working Party, will be investigating the feasibility of establishing a virtual museum for Cowra. The Working Party will investigate and report on the proposal to develop a Virtual Museum to ‘Tell Cowra’s Story’. Expressions of Interest are open until 4pm Friday 16 June 2017.
