DEPT.HEALTH DENTAL CLINIC: 1300 552 626

Dear Parents/Caregivers, Welcome to Week 11! A wonderful night was had last Thursday at the School Social fundraiser. Students and teachers had a great time moving and grooving on the dancefloor as DJ Muzz (aka Mr Murray) played a fantastic selection of music for both Infants and Primary students. Thank you to the P&C members for manning the canteen and to all who contributed to make the evening a success! The disco raised over $400 which will go towards the Stage 2 Excursion to Sydney in Term 2. We are all getting very excited for tomorrow’s COLOUR RUN! Information notes have gone home and students have been reminded daily on assembly, that they need to wear MUFTI shorts, a white shirt and most importantly, bring a towel. This is to prevent paint powder getting on places where it shouldn’t and ensuring that buses and cars remain paint-free on the trip home from school. A huge thank you must go to Miss Samantha Dunk who has spent many hours organising this special event for our school. Almost $12,000 has been raised from the COLOUR RUN, which is a remarkable effort from all the students in our school. Thank you to the Cowra Neighbourhood Centre, Cowra High School students, Cowra Council and Mayor Bill West, Cowra Youth Council, Cowra Little A’s, Cowra Triathlon Club, Cowra Hot Bake, Cowra Cash Butchery and Coles for their assistance and support of this event. Check out our Facebook page for lots of photos of the COLOUR RUN tomorrow afternoon! Following the COLOUR RUN we will be holding our end of term whole school PBL acknowledgement reward for being safe, respectful and on-task learners. Students will enjoy a special Movie afternoon and will be watching “Night at the Museum” in the Hall. As this is a PG rated movie, parents who do not wish for their child to watch it can return the purple information note which was sent home on Tuesday and alternative activities will be organised for these students. What a great way to end a very busy and exciting term! This year ANZAC Day falls in the school holidays and as in past years, we will be participating in the Cowra ANZAC Day Wreath-laying Ceremony and ANZAC Day March. Thank you to all students who have already returned notes indicating they will be participating. Students will need to meet the staff at the Cenotaph outside the Cowra Service’s Club in Brisbane St at 10:00am. Please ensure children are in full school winter uniform. Parents will need to collect their child from River Park at the conclusion of the march. We look forward to seeing everyone there! As we wrap up the final week of Term One I would like to acknowledge the fantastic efforts of the staff at Cowra PS and the wonderful progress the students have made so far this year. I hope all CPS families have a relaxing holiday and enjoy spending time with friends and family. School resumes for teachers on Monday 30th April and all students will return to school on Tuesday 1st May.

Have a terrific holiday! Jenny Lewis Principal
