MULYAN PUBLIC SCHOOL NEWSLETTER Term 2~ Week 7 www. mulyan-p.schools@det.new.edu.au Dear Parents, The month of May always appears to be a particularly busy one with lots of extra activities taking place. This year has proven to be no different with plenty of extra curricular activities taking place. These have included things such as NAPLAN for Year 3 and Year 5 students, the Cowra Eisteddfod. Primary Athletics Carnival, Primary Cross Country Carnival, boys and girls hockey, debating and school photos to name but a few. We still have a couple of activities to take place to round out the term but hopefully, they will be a little less frantic!

students involved will be leaving Cowra early in the morning to travel to Bathurst to take part in rehearsals, followed by a matinee performance and then on to the evening performance. I am sure that both the boys and girls will have a fantastic time as they take part in this event. Thank you to Mrs Statham, Mrs Baratto, Mrs Apps, Miss Barker, Mrs Murray and Mrs Buckley (Cowra High School) for preparing our dancers.
University Competition On the 16th June, some of our students will be taking part in the University of NSW Competitions. They will sit the Spelling paper. The students taking part will be from Year 3 through to Year 6. Eisteddfod Congratulations to our Dance Group who performed The other competitions will take place in Term3. recently in the Cowra Eisteddfod. The girls and boys Good luck! all danced beautifully and should feel very proud of their efforts. The looked spectacular and were Queen’s Birthday Public Holiday awarded with a Highly Commended. Congratulations Just a reminder that the Queen’s Birthday Public to the students and to Mrs Statham, Mrs Apps and Holiday is on Monday, 8th June. The school will be Mrs Baratto. closed on this day. Congratulations to our Percussion group conducted by Mrs Wilson who performed in their section today at the Cowra Eisteddfod. They performed beautifully and were awarded a Highly Commended. Well done!
Boys’ Soccer The boys’ soccer team will play their first match against Cowra Public School on Tuesday, 9th June. This game will be played in Cowra at 12 noon. Thank you to Mr and Mrs Dun and Mr Hay who have been coaching this team. I know that the boys are Congratulations to all the students from our school looking forward to their match. who took part in the Cowra Eisteddfod, whether in a Good luck! school group, as an individual or in another group. It is a great thing to see our students putting themselves forward in this way. Thank you also to & C News all our teachers who prepared our students for their P The P&C will be holding a lamington drive on the performances. 12th and 19th August. Cross Country Congratulations to all those students who competed in the recent District Cross Country Carnival held in Canowindra. Mulyan students did very well at this carnival and we have 18 students who were selected to take part in the District Term to compete at the Western Carnival to be held at Geurie on Wednesday, 10th June. Well done and good luck! Western Dance Festival Next Wednesday, 10th June the Western Dance Festival will be held in Bathurst. This year, we have two troupes performing at this festival and we are looking forward to a wonderful day and night. The
