Dear Parents, Welcome to the last newsletter for this term! Term 3 will conclude on Friday, 18th September, however we still have a busy few days ahead of us before we get to that date. I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of all the students and staff to thank everyone for their support, assistance and friendship over the whole of Term 3. As I always say, we would not be able to undertake the many fabulous programs that we do and that our students are able to take part in without your support. It is greatly appreciated.
local T20 Cricket competition against schools from our local area. This is a fun and enjoyable way to start the cricket season off. Some of our teams are playing in the competitive section and some are in the non-competitive section. Thank you to our Stage 3 teachers who are accompanying our students and giving them the opportunity to take part. . Debating Last Thursday, our Debating team travelled to Mudgee to take part in the Inter-Zone Final against Mudgee Public School. Our team gave a very good School will recommence for all students on Tuesday, account of themselves. The topic was “Pop Stars 6th October. Please note that Monday, 5th October who misbehave should be banned from performing is a public holiday and that in Term 4, there is NO in Australia”. Spelling Bee Today our 4 representatives are over at Millthorpe Public School to take part in the Zone Finals of the Junior and Senior Spelling Bees. At these finals, they will pit themselves against the best spellers from across our area. Good luck to Harley Day, Ryan Louttit (juniors) and Tom Negus and Ruby McKeown (seniors). Infants Movie Night The Infants’ Movie Night ~ “Pictures in PJ’s” is being held tonight in our VTS. In the past, these nights have been hugely enjoyable and we are looking forward to another wonderful night. The movie will be shown from 5.30pm and conclude at 7pm. Anti Bullying Workshop ~ Stage 3 The Anti Bullying and Anti Cyber Bullying Workshops that were due to be held last week unfortunately had to be postponed. The new date for this is now Thursday, 17th September. Senior-Constable Greg Treavors , the Youth Liaison Officer from the Canobolas Local Area Command will be running these workshops for all our students in Stage 3. Award Winners Day The Award Winners Day for this term will be held on Thursday, 17th September for all students who have received a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award already this year. This event will be a free movie afternoon with refreshments for these children. Further details will be forwarded home shortly. Cowra Show The Cowra Show is being held next week on Tuesday, 15th and Wednesday, 16th September. We will once again be putting up a display in the pavilion and we hope you can drop in and maybe see your child’s work on display or their pictures up on the wall. John Smith

Young Farmers Challenge
Homework Centre Cowra High’s Homework Centre operates on Monday afternoons from 3.30–5pm in the school library. The centre is supervised by teaching staff across a range of Key Learning Areas and all students are welcome from Year 1 to Year 12. Students will be required to complete school work, so bringing homework or assignments to the centre is essential. An afternoon snack is provided and a bus is available to drop students home within town limits.
