Lots of fun was had at the Milo T20 Blast Cricket Day last week, hosted by Cricket Australia. Stage 3 students had a ball meeting up with their friends from other local schools and playing against them in this annual event. Thank you to Mr Garlick, Miss Irvine, Miss Noble and Mr Vogel for accompanying our students to the Cricket Day. I received some wonderful comments from the event organisers who stated that the Cowra Public School students were beautifully behaved and showed excellent sportsmanship! Well done Stage 3! Last Thursday evening the CPS Hall was filled to capacity as our Infants and Primary students put on an incredible show called "Cowra's got Talent"! From solo singers, to dancers, trumpeters to comedians, the audience was entertained from start to finish! Thank you to our special guest judges Norm Palazzi and Gay Hilton; to the Cowra Public School P&C for the delicious BBQ and canteen, and to the CPS staff - in particular Mrs Kerry Hopkins and Mrs Sheryl-Ann Pulling - for their organisation of this event. Congratulations to the winning acts and everyone who participated! This week students in N3 and Q23 headed to River Park on Monday to celebrate “Outdoor Classroom Day”. Mrs Haskew and Miss Noble organised a terrific range of activities which encouraged students to use their creativity, collaboration and problem solving abilities to complete a series of challenging tasks. The students thoroughly enjoyed being outside for the day and using lots of different materials found in nature, to support their learning. On Tuesday our School Captains and Prefects attended the annual World Peace Day Youth Forum at the Cowra Civic Centre. The Youth Forum brings together school leaders from local schools in the area and provides an opportunity for these students to meet the Mayor and Cowra Shire Councillors and gain an insight into the workings of local government. Our students completed a series of workshops that focused on Refugees and Asylum Seekers, Advocacy and Young People and brainstormed ways that they can make a difference in their own schools. Thank you to Mrs Hilton who accompanied our school leaders to this event. Tomorrow is the last day of term! I hope all families have a wonderful Spring break and enjoy some special family time over the two week period. We look forward to seeing all students return to school on Monday 9th October. Have a fantastic holiday… Jenny Lewis Principal

~~~COWRA’S GOT TALENT~~~
COWRA HAS TALENT! What a night! Again, Cowra Public School students performed with integrity and excitement, in our biannual Talent Quest. Congratulations to all of you! The seven acts presented by the Infants Department were performed with excitement and fun. From Synchronised swimming to dance to Pillow people! The Primary Department took risks with comedy, dance, solo singing and instrumental! The students cheered each other on as they moved through from one act to the next, while the character, ‘Grandma’ made several appearances to keep the audience on their toes! A huge thank-you to the terrific staff at our school who contributed to the success of the night by: allowing students to practise in their rooms at lunch times and assisting on the night in various ways. Furthermore, to our illustrious compare; Mr Murray and to our auxiliary staff who helped to prepare the auditorium for the event. A special thankyou to the primary students who freely gave their time to work behind the scenes, on the night. Many thanks, Sheryl Ann Pulling and Kerry Hopkins.
