A Super Spelling Success Story Congratulations to Tom Negus who was crowned the Western Zone Spelling Champion for the second year in a row. Towards the end of last term Tom travelled to Millthorpe to compete against all the other top spellers from this zone to see who was the top speller. After a very tense and exciting “spell-off”, Tom was crowned the Senior Spelling Champion for this zone. He competed against all the top spellers from Years 5 and 6 and as Tom is in Year 5, his win is testimony to his spelling prowess. Also representing our school in the Senior Section was Ruby McKeown who placed third and in the junior section, Harley Day who finished in the top 5 and Ryan Louttit who also performed exceptionally well. Congratulations to all of our Super Spellers. They represented our school exceptionally well. Tom will now compete in the State finals in November at the ABC studios in Sydney. A fantastic effort. Stage 2 Excursion Tomorrow our Stage 2 students are off to Orange to see a performance of Roald Dahl’s “Revolting Rhymes and Dirty Beasts”. I know that all the students attending this performance will thoroughly enjoy seeing this book come alive on stage. The bus is leaving from the school at 8.30am and will return before the end of the day. Thank you to Mrs Baratto who has organised this excursion and the Stage 2 teachers who will be accompanying them. Harley Day made Top 5 in Junior Zone Final and Ryan Louttit did very well reaching round three in his first final.
who have not yet enrolled their child for Kindergarten next year, please ask them to come up and talk to us. No Hat No Play Policy As we are now moving into the warmer months, our “No Hat No Play” policy is now in operation. This means that any child not wearing one of the school’s bucket hats will need to stay in the shade during break times at recess and lunchtime. The school’s bucket hats are available from Mr Embroidery. Also on the subject of uniforms, it is important that students wear correct school summer uniforms at all times. This includes the summer tunic for the girls (not tights or shorts) and grey shirt and shorts for boys, and on sports days or PE days, correct sports uniform is to be worn. I know that at this time of year, Year 6 girls in particular may have outgrown their summer tunic and it is impractical to be buying a new uniform for the last 11 weeks. If this is the case, please contact me here at the school and we will see what we can do P&C . John Smith
Infants Athletics Congratulations to all Infants children who actively participated in the Annual Athletics Carnival on Thursday, 10th September 2015.
