The presentations were thoroughly enjoyed by all staff and students and we wish them a safe journey as they head to Walgett.

Dates:
‘Respect –Ed’ is a project that involves local schools and services who are motivated by current research that tells us that promoting healthy equal relationships is the best primary preventative action a community can take to reduce relationship violence. The coming together of students from Cowra Small Schools, Mulyan, St Raphael’s, Cowra High and Cowra Public is a significant acknowledgement of the role respect plays in our lives and in the education of young people. The activities planned for the day will tie in with the White Ribbon campaign which advocates for the need to treat women and girls in our society with respect. There will be a guest speaker, the reciting of the White Ribbon Pledge by male high school students, teachers and community leaders, face painting, balloon art and various displays by schools in the district. The Stage 2 and Stage 3 poetry competition winners will be invited to read their entries on the subject of “Respect.” Cowra Public’s display will feature decorated hands from every student at our school and the theme will be “Hands up for Respect at C.P.S.” We will also have a white ribbon banner on display which all Primary students will get an opportunity to sign if they wish. Stage 3 students will attend the event, travelling by bus which has been generously subsidised by Cowra Bus Service. A sausage sizzle will be provided free of charge for lunch. Year 6 students will remain at the high school after the event for their last transition session whilst Year 5 students will return to school at approximately 1:30pm.
