IMPORTANT DATES Last Day for students Friday, 16 December 2016 Year 1 - 6 students return on Monday, 30 January 2017 Kindergarten students return on Tuesday, 31 January 2017

FOR YOUR DIARY DECEMBER

As we wind down to the end of the school year, staff and students are busy preparing for presentation day, class parties, graduation and the distribution of student reports. While this causes some disruptions to normal school routines, students are reminded that our school PBL focus areas of being on task, being respectful and being safe still apply. This week I have had the opportunity to wander through many of our classrooms and have been delighted to see students on task and engaging in a wide variety of activities! I am pleased to announce that three of our staff members have been successful in their applications for promotion through a program which will run next year called “Early Action for Success”. Congratulations to Mrs Amelia Eldridge who has been appointed as Deputy Principal – Instructional Leader at Cowra Public School; to Ms Raelene Beecher who has been appointed as Deputy Principal – Instructional Leader at Mulyan Public School and to Mrs Karen Garling who has been appointed as Deputy Principal – Instructional Leader at Kelso Public School. All three schools will benefit enormously from Millie, Raelene and Karen’s experience and expertise as they work with the K-2 teachers and students in both schools. Mrs Adrienne Jones has also been appointed as Deputy Principal – Instructional Leader at Cowra Public School on a part-time basis (one day per week) and will join the school next year. In addition to these promotions, I am also pleased to advise that Mrs Natalia Williams has taken up a permanent position as School Counsellor based at Cowra Public School and Miss Amy Irvine will join our school as a permanently appointed classroom teacher from 2017. We warmly welcome all new staff members and hope that they enjoy their time at Cowra Public School. Just a reminder that school surveys, which were distributed with last week’s Newsletter and repeated on this weeks one as well, are due back to the school office by tomorrow (Friday 8th December). Thank you to those families who have already completed and returned these to school.
