2018 WHOLE SCHOOL EXCURSION
FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK What a wonderful term this has been. I would like to thank all the parents, caregivers and community members who volunteer to help out at our school. We really appreciate your contributions to improving student outcomes. The students have participated in a wide variety of learning experiences this term, such as Bus Safety Talks, Football Skills, Orange Civic Theatre Excursion, District Swimming, Hockey Gala Day, Harmony Day and much more. We are very fortunate to have such a caring and committed hardworking staff. Holidays commence tomorrow and I hope all families enjoy the two week break and come back refreshed and ready for a busy Term 2.
STUDENTS RETURN TO SCHOOL ON TUESDAY 1ST OF MAY 2018 ANZAC DAY COMMEMORATIONS Holmwood students have been invited to participate in Anzac Day ceremonies by marching in the Anzac Day Parade in Brisbane Street on
Wednesday 25th of April 2018 commencing at 10.20am. Our School Captains will lay a wreath at the Cenotaph in Brisbane Street, which will be followed by the march down Kendal Street. Mrs
Pagett will meet students in front of the Cowra Services Club at 10.00am. A permission note has been sent home, if you wish your child to participate in this Commemoration and have misplaced the note please contact the office and staff will issue you with another one. Please complete the note and return it to school asap. This will be during week 2 of the
school holidays so it is extremely important that families do not forget to bring their child/ren to the Ceremony on the day.
Plans are well underway for our 2018 Whole School Excursion. This year we have made some very important changes to the organisation and supervision of our excursion.
Strict guidelines must be adhered to by all in attendance and any students who have been exhibiting inappropriate behaviour at school will be excluded from attending the excursion and must attend school on these days. This will be a 3 day excursion, late in Term 4, to ensure that we have the best weather for all our activities. An Expression of Interest Note was sent home with a previous newsletter. It would be appreciated if this could be completed and returned with your deposit AS A MATTER OF URGENCY so that we can secure our accommodation and coach hire.
The P&C have generously agreed to donate $50.00 to each student who will be attending this excursion. This will now reduce the cost of the excursion to $200.00 per student. THANK YOU TO OUR WONDERFUL P&C!!! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to phone the school on 6342 2172 or 0458 422000.
