HARMONY DAY

This year our school will again be taking part in “Harmony Day” celebrations. Harmony Day is about sharing our cultural heritage and promoting inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. At Holmwood School we will be celebrating Harmony Day by:  Coming to school dressed in ORANGE (THE “OFFICIAL” Harmony Day colour) – if you don’t have orange clothing – pink, red or yellow are all OK!  Cooking a fabulous Nepalese cultural feast for lunch.

Sharing a meal together in celebration of our cultural diversity. Details of our menu etc will be in next week’s newsletter. If parents would like to assist with cooking activities in any class, a helpers note will also be sent out with next week’s newsletter – remember the more the merrier!! Also attached to next week’s newsletter will be the Harmony Day Lunch Order Form.

MOVING FROM YEAR 6 INTO YEAR 7 IN 2019 IN A NSW GOVERNMENT HIGH SCHOOL

Fri 16 March

An Expression of Interest Form for Year 6 students who are moving into Year 7 in 2019 was sent home to Year 6 parents. It would be appreciated if parents and caregivers could have this form completed and returned to the school office asap.

SCHOOL PHOTOS Attached to last week’s newsletter was a school photo information sheet, your family package order form and your online ordering information sheet. Please read this information carefully and bring your order in on photo day and give it to Mr & Mrs Dykes. School Photos will be taken first thing on FRIDAY 23RD MARCH. If your child has the new formal uniform it would be appreciated if they could wear it to school on the day. We will be having swimming for sport that day and your child will then only need to bring their swimming gear so there is no need for the sport uniform. If your child does not have the new formal uniform please ensure they are in the full school uniform of red polo shirt, and black shorts or skorts and black shoes. Please note black shoes are part of the sports uniform. If you are purchasing new joggers please ensure they are black. Thank you.

SCHOOL FEES Voluntary School Fees are an essential source of funds for our school. The cost of school fees is $35.00 per child, which we have chosen to remain the same as last year. It would be appreciated if parents and caregivers could arrange for school fees to be paid to the Office as soon as possible. Thank you.

CHANGES TO SCRIPTURE Just a reminder that our new Scripture arrangements are a half an hour lesson EVERY FRIDAY from 9:30am until 10:00am.
