Term 1, Week 9 Wednesday, 24th March Make a Payment

Dear Parents, Festival for International Understanding Children are invited to join us on Saturday, 25th March to participate in the Festival Parade. Children are to meet teachers at Brougham Park between 11.3011.45am near our float. Children are to wear their sports uniform please and girls to wear a garland of flowers in their hair if possible. Children can meet their parents near the War Memorial Gates at River Park at the conclusion of the march. We are having an information stall at the festival carnival, please come along and view the stall and help promote our wonderful school. On Monday, 27th March , we have a groups of Belarusian dancers coming to visit us and perform for the students. We are very much looking forward to this exciting cultural experience. Students Safety Parents are reminded to make sure that their children do not use the teachers’ carparks in Myall or Lachlan Street for entering or leaving the school for their own safety. These are very busy areas with cars entering and leaving our school. A reminder to parents to please walk across the road and collect your child at the end of the day if you meet them at Lachlan Street and escort them back across the road. This is a very busy time of day with car and bus movement and we’d like to keep our students safe and encourage them to use suitable road safety behaviour. As parents, you play a vital role in helping us instil this message. Parent/Teacher Interviews Parent/Teacher interviews are planned to be held in Weeks 10 and 11. Details will be sent home closer to the date. www.mulyan-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au T:63422531 F:63411254 92-94 Lachlan St, Cowra, 2794

Cricket Last Thursday, Mulyan’s cricket team convincingly defeated Canowindra P.S. at Raudonikis Oval. After winning the toss and electing to bat Canowindra got off to a solid start with Hugh Breen hitting a quick fire 21. As soon as his wicket fell to Rohan Wilson, the Mulyan team quickly took control with Canowindra being all out for 39 runs.

Great all round bowling, but especially from Callaghan, Williams and Wilson, was a feature. When batting, a strong opening partnership of Bond and Veney saw the Mulyan side edge towards victory. This was followed by a quick 18 run stand by Callaghan. Mulyan played well as a team and the experience gained by the younger brigade will be very helpful as we move to our next game versus Grenfell P.S. at Lawson Oval, Grenfell, next Monday, 27th March.

Athletics Carnival Pre-Entry

Riding Scooters to School

High Jump is an event at the Mulyan Public School Athletics Carnival. If you wish to pre-enter this event please ADD it to the list of available events for the competitive section of the carnival note which was given out on Monday.

Riding scooters to and from school is now temporarily banned. Unfortunately, we have a number of incidents involving close misses with vehicles and pedestrians as a direct result of students riding their scooters recklessly. It is a legal requirement for students to wear a helmet when riding a scooter and many students don’t. So for now, scooters are banned.

All notes need to be handed in to Mrs B. Johnson NO LATER than Wednesday, 5th April.
