FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK SCHOOLS SPECTACULAR

URGENT!!!

Attached to last week’s Newsletter was the exciting news that some of our students were successful in gaining a place to participate in this Year’s School Spectacular to be held in Sydney in November.

It would be appreciated if you could return your note indicating whether your child will be attending by TOMORROW FRIDAY 29TH OF JUNE AS OUR TICKETS AND SEATING NEED TO BE SECURED IMMEDIATELY!! We will be travelling by Cowra Bus and this is first in best dressed as seating is limited!! This is an amazing opportunity to witness some of our students participating in this wonderful event. Details are as follows:DATE: TIME: RETURN: COST:

Friday 23rd of November 2018 Depart from Cowra Bus at 5:30am Approximately 7:30pm $65 per person. This is $40 for the transport and $25 for the tickets to view the show

We encourage all our students to attend as this is a once in a lifetime opportunity!!

2018 TODD WOODBRIDGE CUP On Thursday 5th July our Stage 2 students (Yrs 3 and 4) will be participating in the 2018 Todd Woodbridge Cup to be held at the Cowra Tennis Courts. This is a red ball competition using low compression balls on a modified tennis court. Students will play both doubles and mixed doubles matches. The day will commence at 9:30am and conclude at 1:00pm. Students will need to be dropped off at the Cowra Tennis Courts by 9:30am and then picked up at the conclusion of the day at 1:00pm. Attached to this newsletter please find a permission note with additional information as well as information sheets re the Todd Woodbridge Cup Guidelines.

NAIDOC DAY 2018 Our students have been invited to attend the “Naidoc Fair” to be held at Cowra High School on Thursday 5th July. All students in Yrs K, 1, 2, 5 and 6 be attending the “Naidoc Fair”. Students will be travelling via bus from Holmwood School at 11.30am and return to school via bus at 2:15pm. There will be a BBQ lunch available on the day, this will be either a sausage sandwich for $2.50 or steak sandwich for a cost of $5.00. If your child is ordering their lunch on the day please return the attached order form TOMORROW!! for catering purposes. Please let the school office know if your child will be ordering their lunch – phone 6342 2172. Attached to this Newsletter please find a permission note to be signed and returned to school asap.

Holmwood Public School are excited to be offering an extended Kindergarten Transition Program for prospective 2019 Kindergarten students. The Transition Program will commence in Term 3 from Wednesday 25th of July through to Wednesday 12th of December 2018. The times for the Program will be 9:30am until 11.50am. Any child who is eligible to enrol in Kindergarten in 2019 is invited to attend. Please phone the school on 6342 2172 if your child will be attending. Letters will be sent home to

families next week with final details, so if your child will be attending the Transition Program or you know of a child who is interested in attending please contact the school asap. PARENT/TEACHER INTERVIEWS Our Parent/Teacher Interviews are currently being held. Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you would like to make an appointment.

Calendar CITIZENSHIP AWARD The Week 8 Citizenship Award was presented by Mrs Pagett to Liam Beaumont. Liam received this Award for being very kind and looking after our younger students. Well done Liam!!

SRC NEWS Next week the SRC are once again offering cheese toasties on Monday and sausage in bread on Wednesday for lunch. Attached to this Newsletter please find your order forms. Orders with payment must be received by Monday morning for the Cheese Toastie and Wednesday morning for the Sausage in bread.

FRIDAY MEAL DEAL TOMORROW, Friday the 29th of June the P&C are offering students a special MEAL DEAL. Tomorrow’s Meal Deal will be Mac and Cheese with bacon and a treat. Attached to this Newsletter please find your order form. Please complete the form and return with payment TOMORROW if you would like to order.

NEWS FLASH!! PETER RABBIT THE MOVIE!! P&C MOVIE NIGHT The Holmwood P&C wish to advise that they have finalised details for their Movie Night. They will be screening the newly released movie Peter Rabbit. The movie will be held in the Kindergarten Classroom at HPS next Thursday 5th of July commencing at 5:00pm with a hot dog dinner for $2.00 and 5:30pm for the commencement of the movie. The cost to view the movie will be $5.00 which includes popcorn. We look forward to seeing you all there for what promises to be an enjoyable night.
