From the Principal’s Desk What a wonderful term we have had. The weeks have just sped by. I would like to congratulate the staff and students for a terrific term of learning. I would also like to thank our wonderful P&C Committee for their successful fundraising activities this term. I wish everyone a safe and restful holiday. Please note that SCHOOL RESUMES ON MONDAY 9TH OF OCTOBER.
End of Term Assembly Tomorrow – Friday 22nd of September Parents, caregivers and friends are invited to our End of Term Assembly to be held tomorrow. The afternoon will commence at 12.00pm with a lunch, cooked by our P&C Committee. This is a fresh chicken burger in a Turkish roll - $4.00, cheesecake - $2.00, ice cream cup with topping $2.00 and drinks from $1 to $2. This will be followed by our Assembly. We look forward to seeing you there!!
Holmwood Festival and Night Markets Last Friday night Holmwood P&C held a very successful Festival and Night Markets. Everyone had a wonderful night which concluded with the fireworks. Thank you to all our helpers, without your help and support the night would not have been such a huge success.

DaVinci Exhibition On Tuesday our students attended the DaVinci Exhibition in Temora. All students had a wonderful time learning all about War Machines, Flying Machines, Nautical/Hydraulic Machines, Principles of Mechanics and Artwork – Reproductions. The students were very interested to learn that DaVinci was not just an artist, he was a very interesting and talented man.
Kinder Transition Tomorrow is our last Kinder Transition for the Term. Our new students have settled in well and have enjoyed their term with us. We look forward to seeing them again next term. Kind Regards Kris Pagett Principal Students enjoyed listening about War Machines

Congratulations Chelsea Leister Last Friday Chelsea had the honour of being matched with a Japanese donor in the Cherry Tree Avenue. Below are some photos of Chelsea at the Tree Planting Ceremony.
School’s Spectacular News Beginning on the first Wednesday next term (11th of October) Holmwood students participating in the School’s Spectacular will be joining Cowra Public School for the School’s Spectacular Choir practise. Students will travel by bus after school to CPS where they will meet Mrs Knight. Practise will conclude at 4pm. All students need to be collected from CPS by 4.15pm. If you need to make alternate arrangements please concact Mrs Amylee Knight at Holmwood Public School – 6342 2172.
School Banking HPS propose to introduce Student Banking commencing next term. At the moment we are looking at opening our Student Banking Accounts with St George Bank. If any families are interested in participating in student banking please contact the school and leave your name. Further information will be sent home when arrangements for Student Banking have been confirmed. Heather Bray Fundraising – School’s Spectacular Fundraiser As families would be aware some of our HPS students were successful in gaining a position to participate in the School’s Spectacular in Sydney in November. To help with the cost of this Excursion we are holding a fundraiser. Attached to this Newsletter please find an order form. It would be appreciated if all orders and money are returned to school by Monday 23rd of October (Week 3). We thank you for your support.

New Committee It was regret that the resignation of our P&C President, Karen Beaumont, was accepted at yesterday’s P&C meeting. We would like to thank Karen for her dedication and hard work over the last 5 years to the P&C Committee. At yesterday’s meeting a new Committee was elected, they are President – Mrs Natalie Crutch, Vice President – Mrs Kelly Murphy, Treasurer – Mrs Jocelyn Billing and Secretary – Mrs Naomi Lawler.

K/1 Class News What a fantastic term we have had!! All K/1 students have worked very hard this term and have learnt lots. We all enjoyed our Gymnastics lessons this term as well as all the other wonderful activities we took part in. Thank you to all our new Kindy Transition students who attended each Friday this term, we look forward to seeing you next term. Have a wonderful break and I look forward to seeing all the “Ponies” return to school on Monday 9th of October. We have learnt lots of new things in the 2/3 classroom this term and are looking forward to many more new and interesting things next term. Festival News Dear parents, families, teachers and extended helpers the Holmwood P&C Association would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank everyone for their tireless efforts on the Festival night. Teachers and staff, you were all such an enormous help before, during and after the Festival. To all families who came along and enjoyed the night THANK YOU for attending and supporting our wonderful school community. It was a pleasure to see everyone happy, smiling and obviously enjoying themselves. The positive feedback from the community and ideas for next year’s Festival are very much appreciated and I am sure next year’s Festival will again prove to be a successful fundraiser and positive community event.
