Nurture One Visit

Dear Parents, Welcome to another cool and wet week. Thank you to all the parents, carers and children who have ensured a very smooth start to the term. It is lovely to walk into classrooms and see students and staff busily working away, enjoying what they are doing and being very productive. It is also wonderful to see the vast majority of our students wearing their school uniforms with great pride. It certainly adds a lot to, not only the look of the school, but also the overall feel and atmosphere. Well done! Education Week Education Week is next week. This will be a chance for us to show off the many wonderful things that we do at our school and also a chance to invite parents and community members to the school to showcase our programmes and the fantastic work our students produce. The Education Week timetable will appear later in the newsletter. Sport Today, we are running our postponed Primary Athletics Carnival. From this carnival, a squad will be chosen to represent our school at the District Carnival to be held in Cowra on Friday, 5th August. Thank you to Mrs B. Johnson who has organised the carnival and ensured that it runs smoothly. Also, to all the helpers for without your support we certainly would not be able to do it. It was a little damp under foot, as well as quite chilly. Congratulations to all the boys and girls who participated wholeheartedly. Results will be published in next week’s newsletter. Last Friday, 3 of our students travelled to Eastern Creek to take part in the State Cross Country Carnival. The carnival was held with all the best runners from right across NSW competing. Bailey Callaghan, Leroy Murray and Jacob Haeata represented the Western Region in the carnival. Each of the boys ran very well against some pretty tough opposition and performed

We hope to see you at some of these events. Attendance at School It is very import that children attend school each and every day when the school is open. If a child is not here, they are not learning. I know from time to time that children can’t attend school because of illness, appointments etc. In cases such as this an explanation needs to be provided either in writing or verbally. Please work with us to ensure that your child is at school as often as they can be. Head Lice Please remember to check your child’s hair for head lice on a regular basis. Treatment is available from the chemist .

Cowra Squash competition starts on 30th August. A grading night for new players is on Monday, 8th August at 7pm at the Cowra Services Club. Cost: $20 student. Free coaching by Pat Charnock on Mondays at 5.30pm. An introduction to squash will be held on Wednesday, 3rd August , 6-7pm. Phone Nicky on 0417 423 219 for details.
