Term 4, Week 6 Wednesday, 16th November 2016

Dear Parents, Congratulations to our Hotshot Tennis players who travelled to Sydney last week to take part in the Tennis Tournament played at Olympic Park.

Our team played exceptionally well and came away in 10th place, a mighty effort against 26 other schools that also took part. Well done, Laina, Talieka, Ricky and Clancy, definitely names to look for in the future. Thank you, Mrs Johnson for accompanying these children to this tournament and giving them the opportunity to take part. Next week, both our choir and dance groups will be travelling to Sydney to take part in the week of rehearsals followed by the staging of this year’s Schools Spectacular. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students and I know that they have been rehearsing and practising hard for this wonderful event. Thank you to Mrs Statham, Mrs Cummings, Mrs Apps and Mrs Baratto who will be accompanying our students and giving them the opportunity to take part. At the Schools Spectacular, our students will have the opportunity to dance with, sing with and work with talented performers from right across NSW. A wonderful opportunity. Intensive Swimming This week, the Intensive Swimming Scheme commenced with 80 or so hardy students from Years 2-6 travelling to Cowra Pool to take part in Learn to Swim lessons. These lessons will continue for two weeks and are a wonderful low cost way for students to gain confidence and skills in and around the water. Hopefully, the weather will continue to warm up for this program. Thank you to Mrs Cummings, Mrs Johnson, Mrs Murray, Mrs Jeffries and Mrs Thornett who are accompanying our children to these lessons.

We also held a parent meeting this morning where lots of valuable information was given out. It should be a very exciting year for everyone. John Smith
