Spring Fair Friday, 28th October 5 - 7pm

Term 4, Week 3 Wednesday, 26th October 2016

Dear Parents, The days are getting longer, the sun is finally shining, the blossoms are looking amazing. This can only mean one thing. It is time for the Mulyan Spring Fair, this Friday, 28th October 5pm – 7pm. I hope you are planning on supporting this annual fundraiser for our P & C. Lots of new and fun activities have been organised. Remember to donate to your child’s class basket for the Chocolate Wheel. We also need lots of Jazzy Jars and Creative Containers – there is a prize for the class who brings in the most. The raffle prizes are awesome this year so please sell as many tickets as you can. There is a pizza party planned for the class that sells the most tickets. Congratulations to our small but hard working and very dedicated committee for organising the 2016 Spring Fair. I know it’s going to be a fantastic event. Thanks to those who have already offered to help out on class stalls. There are still a number of stalls looking for help so please return your volunteer notes so that timetables can be worked out. Book Fair Book Character Parade Our Book Fair is now finished and was a great success. Thanks to all who purchased books. We have sold over $2000 which means we have been able to get a number of new resources for our library. The Book Character Parade was a huge success. Thanks to all our families who helped create the amazing costumes the students wore and to the visitors who attended our Parade. Thanks, Mrs Bryant and Mrs Lynch for organising this fun event. We were very lucky to have a special visit from “Clifford” which was very exciting. ICAS University Competition. We recently had our Mathematics competition results returned and are very proud of the 12 students who participated. Congratulations to you all. I’d like to make special mention of Ricky Holmes (Year 4) and Zachary Olbourne(Year 6) who were awarded a Merit Certificate and to Tom Negus(Year 6) who was awarded a Distinction Award. Not an easy thing to receive as this competition is open to all students in Australia so these boys have done particularly well.

A jammed packed itinerary! Thank you, Mrs Kellie Statham for planning and organising such an awesome experience for our students. Book Week Parade

State Athletics - report by Bailey & Jacob Bailey: I recently went to Sydney to participate in 800m race at the State Athletics Carnival. I came 7th in my heat which placed me the 34th best runner in the state! I kept saying to myself if I got tired - “Go Faster”. I loved the experience. Jacob: My experience at State was great. I was in the 5th heat and I was very nervous. I was coming first at the beginning of the race but I couldn’t keep my momentum up so I dropped back to 7th. I got a shock that I came 27th out of 39 runners. I was happy with my performance.
