Dear Parents,
Silver & Gold Awardees’ Morning Tea
Spring Fair Thanks everyone for your generous support and helping to ensure our 2016 Spring Fair was an awesome success. The weather was perfect, there were lots of amazing activities available to suit everyone and there were lots of smiles and laughter. Thank you to the dedicated committee who worked incredibly hard leading up to this event, making sure everything was organised and ran smoothly on the night. A huge thanks to the mums who spent almost the whole day leading up to our fair setting up. Also to Nev Connor, our amazing GA who carted tables and chairs and whatever else was needed to help set everything up. A big shout out to the incredible staff at Mulyan and their families who helped run stalls to allow the rest of our school community to enjoy the evening. Thanks to those who stayed behind to help clean up and put everything away. Overall, it was a wonderful school community effort which helped raise valuable funds which are used to purchase resources for our school from which the children benefit greatly. We are in the process of having an amazing climbing frame installed in the Infants Playground, thanks to funds raised by our hard working P & C. Next project includes re-surfacing the basketball court in the Primary playground. Thanks to Nikki Wilson (P & C president) and the hard working P & C committee for your dedication to our students and Mulyan School Congratulations to 4R who won the prize for bringing in the most Jazzy Jars/ Creative Containers and to 3/4C who sold the most Raffle Tickets. Intensive Swimming Please remember all notes and money are due for swimming lessons in Week 6 and Week 7 (14th to 25th November). This is an amazing opportunity for our students Year 2 to 6 who are not confident swimmers so please take advantage of it. The lessons are free, cost is $40 which covers bus and pool entry (unless you have a season pass for the pool). There are still some places available. Schools Spectacular We have 28 students performing at Schools Spectacular on 25th and 26th November. They have been busy practising and learning routines and words to the songs. As part of this, our dance group was one of 4 nonmetropolitan schools in a live video-conferencing link to the 1700 students practising at Qudos Bank Arena on Monday. They were able to interact with the Dance Director and be seen on the screen. What an awesome experience. Staffing Mrs Kim Smith (Kinder Purple class teacher) has been offered a Relieving Principal position starting 14th November at Holmwood Primary. This is a wonderful opportunity for Mrs Smith and we congratulate her. This role is only till the end of the year as a new Principal has been appointed and will start there at the beginning of 2017. So Miss Courtney Boyd will be teaching Kinder Purple for the last 5 weeks of this year. Miss Boyd has been teaching 3/4C while Mr Smith has been on leave and I have been Relieving Principal and we thank Miss Boyd for the fantastic work she has done with the 3/4 C Students. Mr Smith returns next week and I will be back as 3/4C class teacher.
