From The Principal’s Desk 2018 SCHOOLS SPECTACULAR Mrs Knight, Cheri, Seth, Chelsea, Micah, Macey, Addison, Jonathan, Liam, Rachel, Brittney, Hayley, Charlize, Montanah and Layla returned from the School Spectacular this week. They all had a wonderful time and found this an amazing experience.

Message from Mrs Knight WOW!!! Our NSW Public Schools have a lot of very talented students from the Featured Artists to the Production team. I would like to congratulate the students who attended Schools Spectacular for the 5 days on their great behaviour, their enthusiasm and for keeping us smiling. They all worked hard leading up to the performances practising weekly with Cowra Public School and Mulyan Public School at Cowra Public School. Thank you Mrs Long, Mrs Oborn and Mrs Cummings!!!! We would like to thank the P&C and the S.R.C. for their generous donation towards the students being able to attend Schools Spectacular. The P&C work tirelessly throughout the year to support the learning and wellbeing of students through donations of educational resources, sporting equipment and financial donations. I personally would like to thank Cheri for all of her help before and during Schools Spec. It is a huge week and her assistance was invaluable. Well done to Hayley, Montanah, Charli, Layla, Brittney, Rachel, Liam, Chelsea, Addie, Macey, Seth, Micah and Jonathan. You are ‘The Greatest’!! Mrs Knight

HPS ANNUAL PRESENTATION NIGHT Our Annual Presentation night will be held at the school, under the Cola on Wednesday 12th of December commencing at 6.00pm. On the evening the students Reports and School Magazine will be distributed to families. We look forward to all families joining us for this Annual event.

ANNUAL SCHOOL MAGAZINE Once again this year HPS are producing their annual School Magazine. This is filled with students photos and activities of their school year. It is a wonderful keepsake for families. The cost of the School Magazine remains at $5.00. Attached to this newsletter please find an order form. If you wish to order the School Magazine please complete and send it in with your payment asap. Your magazine will be distributed at Presentation Night along with your child’s School Report.

RED REPORT FOLDERS Please don’t forget to send in your Red Report Folders. This is so that we can insert your child’s Semester 2 Report ready for distribution at the end of this term.

URGENT - SRC MAJOR FUNDRAISER Thank you to all the families who have sent in their orders for our Cookie Dough Fundraiser your fantastic efforts are appreciated. Unfortunately our SRC major fundraiser has not been as successful as we had hoped. There is a minimum sell on the tubs of cookie dough that we did not meet, therefore we had to reopen this fundraiser. To make this fundraiser

a success all we require is that families try to sell at least 2 tubs of cookie dough. School

There is no cost for students to attend this end of year celebration as our wonderful P&C is covering the entry fee for students to attend and the school is covering the cost of the bus. Parents are required to pay their own entry fee into the park, which is $25.00. We would like firm numbers as soon as possible so that we can book the venue and the coach. Attached to last week’s newsletter was a Warning, Release, Indemnity and Assumption of Risk Note, a Bathurst Aqua Park Waiver Form and an Important Information Sheet for families.

fundraisers assist in the purchase of resources for our students, and student and family support is needed and appreciated so that we can ensure that our students have resources at hand to aid in their education. It would be appreciated if students could please assist the SRC in making their major fundraiser a success. All funds raised are going towards purchasing more laptops for our students. Orders

are to be returned to school, with payment by tomorrow Friday 30th of November and the delivery date of the Cookie Dough has been rescheduled for Tuesday 11th of December. If you require an extra order form please call into the school office. Our apologies to all who have ordered their Cookie Dough for the rescheduled delivery date of their orders. Thank you HPS SRC.

END OF YEAR CELEBRATION This year we have decided to take our students to Bathurst Aqua Park (which is located on Chifley Dam) as part of our end of year celebrations. We propose to hold this wonderful event on Friday 14th of December. Students will travel to Bathurst via bus. Students will depart HPS at 8.30am and return to HPS by 3pm. Parents are also invited to attend, but will need to find their own transport to and from the Bathurst Aqua Park.

Please read all the information provided carefully, sign and return all forms including the permission note to school by Thursday 29th of November. If you require further information please do not hesitate to phone the school or you can google “Bathurst Aqua Park”.

SCHOOL UNIFORMS

FAMILIES ARE REMINDED THAT THE NEW FORMAL UNIFORM HAS NOW BEEN INTRODUCED.

The formal uniform is to be worn on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. We would like all students wearing the new uniform for the commencement of 2019. If you would like to purchase the new uniform for your child/ren and would like to discuss a payment plan, please call into the school office and Anthea will assist you. Attached to this newsletter please find an order form and price list. Our students, particularly our school leaders, are attending more out of school special occasions where the formal uniform is required to be worn. Occasionally students have Gymnastics or other extra sporting activities, when these are on students are to wear their sports uniforms, otherwise the sports uniform will be worn on Wednesday and Friday. Uniforms are available to purchase from the school office and the girl’s formal skirt can be purchased from Central West Uniforms located in the Centre Arcade in Kendal Street. You may claim a $10 refund on the purchase of your 1st formal skirt when you present your receipt to the school office. This is to help offset the cost as the girls new formal uniform is a little more expensive than the boys.

It would be appreciated if parents and caregivers could ensure that their child comes to school dressed in the correct school uniform, please note that thongs and sandals must not be worn to school. When the school holds their Mufti days students are not to wear singlets, thongs or sandals to school, this is a Health & Safety direction.

2019 CLASSROOM BOOK REQUIREMENTS I would like to advise families that HPS will once again be supplying all of the classroom requirements for students in 2019 for the small cost of $30.00 per student. The packs will include the student’s exercise books, folders, pencils, a glue stick and rubbers. This cost also includes the provision of coloured pencils, rulers and other necessities such as photocopy paper. This will mean that families will not have to purchase any items for the students to use in the classroom at the start of the 2019 school year. Payment for these packs may be made at the school office.
