Celebrity entrepreneur guest at first Biz breakfast Celebrity entrepreneur Neil Druce is guest speaker at Cowra’s Business Leaders Breakfast being held on Tuesday, February 28 at the Japanese Garden.

The Breakfast offers a unique opportunity for local small and medium business operators to hear one of Australia’s most inspiring and dynamic leaders explain the secrets to business success. The event is being held as part of the NSW Department of Industry’s “Back to Business Week” promotion and will be hosted by Cowra Mayor, Councillor Bill West. “Small and medium business provides the economic drivers, the service, the jobs, and the goods that ensure our standard of living is maintained and it is right that we recognise their efforts in this way,” Cr West said of the event. “Back to Business Week” is part of a series of events to promote and celebrate the success of small and medium businesses and the critical role they play in local communitites across NSW. Celebrity entrepreneur Neil Neil Druce, also colloquially known as “Fatboy”, has been Druce: Guest speaker at Managing Director of Green Grove Organics since 1998. Cowra’s inaugural Business Neil was born-and-bred on the Green Grove organic farm at Leaders Breakfast on Tuesday, Kamarah near Ardlethan about 100km west of Junee where his February 28. father Allan has been practicing organic farming since 1962. Graduating from Ambassador University in Pasadena, California, his varied life experience has included working as a woodwork teacher; a gym supervisor; a waiter, butler, and chef; a chauffeur; a licorice chef and chocolatier; and soon to be a whisky distiller. “Much success in business is about luck and grabbing opportunities as they arise. Be confident in your own decisions and take calculated risks, when an opportunity presents itself, it may not always work but it certainly won’t if you don’t grab it!” Neil said explaining his business philosophy. “I am a great believer in watching trends and I certainly wouldn’t put money into something that is not going with trends; dare to be different – in fact I find it very exciting to be different once a new industry is on the front cover of a newspaper its all over. Neil’s iconic Junee Licorice factory certainly fits this criteria — Neil points out proudly that it is the only dedicated manufacturer of this traditional confection in the southern hemisphere. “I also believe the answer is always yes – then go figure out how to achieve it. Many of our opportunities have not been in our Business Plan. Communication is very important. Part of Neil’s passions is communicating about the business, the product, services and ethics to staff family, school children, and up-and-coming entrepeneurs.
