Wants You To “Pack the Pallet” for Wildland Firefighters Due to the unprecedented heat and fire conditions currently in our forests, the Idaho Department of Lands is asking for help in building the cache of supplies for Wildland Firefighters. Bring your items to the Chamber’s drop-off pallet and we will facilitate delivering these much-needed items to the Coeur d’Alene Interagency Fire Cache. What is needed for the pallet: • Cases of water • Cases of sports drinks with electrolytes Refrigerator trucks or trailers: Refrigerator trucks are needed to pick up ice in the Coeur d’Alene area and deliver it to fire camps, and to deliver existing fresh food stocks to catering firms that prepare meals for firefighters at fire camps.
Bring Your Items to the Chamber! Another Great Way to Help: Make a monetary donation to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation. The foundation’s main focus is to help families of firefighters killed in the line of duty and to assist injured firefighters and their families. Make a tax deductible monetary donation to the foundation. Every donation makes a difference!
