Food is important! For most of us at least three times a day. Everyone, by virtue that we eat each day, participate in agriculture – we are the end user of what farmers and ranchers produce. Yet, less than 2% of the nation’s population are ag producers and that allows the other 98+% of us to go about our days doing other things and using less of our disposal income for our food than in any other country in the world. What do you know about farmers, what they do and how food gets to your table? Come meet local farmers who will help you understand what it took to produce the food that will be served for dinner that evening. Each will share their “farming” story and answer your questions during short interactive workshops. Learn about the production of beef, potatoes, local produce and veggies, wheat, dairy, and apples plus local wine and beer. Then sit with the farmers, visit, and enjoy a wonderful farm dinner. Why the Fairgrounds? The History of Fairs are based on agriculture – a place for farmers to show off their livestock and crops. With this new twist we are highlighting local farmers and ranchers as well as what they produce.
