GCSE Media Studies – Exemplar Treatment
Treatment The product: The product that I will be advertising is Fiz. Fiz is a new carbonated fruit drink that contains 100% of the recommended daily allowance of vitamins C, A, and D. It also contains no caffeine. It comes in three flavors: Fiz Citro-citrus flavor, Fiz Bomb-berry flavor, and Fiz Zowie- apple cinnamon flavor. Objective: The objective of my commercial will be to make teenagers want to buy my product because it has cool flavors that no one else has and it is healthy. Parents will also like this drink and will buy it for their kids because it contains vitamins. Fiz will compete other fruit drinks, but people will buy Fiz because of its flavors and vitamins. After watching this commercial people will look for Fiz at the store or in vending machines. Target Audience: The kind of people I will target will be mostly teenagers. The product will not be the cheapest, but will not be the most expensive either. For this reason, our target audience will make a middle class income. Boys and girls will both like this drink so I will include both in my commercial. Teenagers that are interested in sports or being active will like this drink because it is healthy. Overview: The approach will use action to sell Fiz. Cool looking Boys and girls in their teens who are doing things that are fun will be in my commercial. Teens will want to be like them so I will be using the bandwagon technique. I will also use a logo and the slogan “Fiz is Fruit Fuel for Fun.” I will also use price appeal by saying that Fiz costs the same as other drinks, but contains more vitamins and is better for you. Filming needs: My commercial will be videotaped outside during the day. It will show teenagers riding skateboards, rollerblades, running on the track, and playing basketball. The shots will be quick and mostly close-ups of action. John, Hector, Mary, and Kelly will be in my commercial because they play the sports that I want to show. They are students in our class so I will videotape them during class time outside the school. I will create a logo for Fiz in Photoshop. The music needs to be loud and fast so I will use rock music. Originality: Fiz will be successful because it tastes good and is good for you. By showing teenagers playing sports I will show that Fiz is healthy and fun. Teenagers will buy Fiz because I will show cool teens enjoying it and our target audience will want to be like them.
