Indoor gardening can be an enjoyable experience if you have the proper light requirements and a good potting soil design for the specific plants you want to grow. Strawberries are a great choice for growing indoors. They can be planter in window boxes, hanging planters in a window or in a container of your choice. Strawberry plants can add a unique look to a room, and are an easy plant to grow. The first step is choosing a container that will fit your needs. There are many styles of containers that are specifically designed just for strawberry plants. They range from the simple terracotta planting pot, to window boxes or hanging planters that can be hung in front of a window. Planters can even be purchased that are designed for easy watering; these are known as self-watering containers. Pots designed specifically for growing strawberries usually hold anywhere from one to three plants. There are large clay pots that are taller and the plants are grown in the top of the pot as well as in pockets built on the containers side. Once you have the materials needed to start, (container, potting soil mix, plants, and a garden trowel) you are ready to start. Start by first partially filling the container with potting soil to about three inches from the top. Place your plants, spacing them evenly around the container and cover the root system with more soil, firming the soil gently with your hand, and them water thoroughly. A simple trick to getting moisture evenly throughout the depth of the pot is to install a PVC pipe that is caped on the bottom, and has holes drilled around the sides, filling the tube with water and not pouring the water directly on the soil. Now that your strawberry plants are planted, there is very little maintenance to do, just keep them in a location where they will receive the needed sunlight, monitor the moisture content of the soil, feed them with a slow release organic fertilizer, and watch them flourish into a thriving crop of tasty strawberries. Container gardening indoors can be a very rewarding experience with any type of plants, berries, dwarf fruit trees, herbs and vegetables. They all have their own unique personal characteristics that can add a personal touch to any room. Experimenting with different plants or a combination of plants is fun to do, and you will never know what the results will be unless you try.

A environment friendly and healthy way of gardening. Organic Gardening is away of gardening in harmony with nature. Growing a healthy and productive crop in a way that is healthier for both you and the environment.
