Don't you just hate it when your zipper pull breaks off, specially when you are in a hurry? It's frustrating isn't it? Well actually you always replace the entire zipper itself. Of course it may not necessary be easy as it may required a little bit a skill but with practice, it's not as hard as it seems. The first thing you need to do is to identify what type of zipper pull that you need to fix or replace and then get them in your nearest store that sell jewelry-making supplies. Other things that you will need include - a needle nose pliers, 1 inch split ring, jewelry charm and jump ring. Here are some steps on how you can fix or restore the zip: Step 1: The first step is to remove the broken or old zipper pull parts. If necessary, you can use a needle-nose pliers to remove the parts. Step 2: Then next step, try separating the split ring and attach it to the loop on the slider. The slider is the part that slides up and down, along the teeth of the zipper. Then here comes the tricky part, rotate the split ring until it's on the zipper loop. Step 3: Use the needle nose pliers and open the jump ring (with jewelry charm attaching it) slightly, then place the jump ring into the split ring. Step 4: Once it's the jump ring is in the split ring, use the needle nose pliers and close the jump ring. Use the tip of your thumb and index finger and squeeze the sides of the jump ring, make sure the jewelry charm is secured and stay attached to the ring. Step 5: Finally, you can test out your zipper by pulling the zipper up and down.
