A message from Cameron Nicholls Most Sydney suburbs have seen significant growth despite the continued COVID cloud hanging over our heads. It has been an absolute pleasure to be involved in the process of people buying and selling real estate and to see the joy it brings individuals and families amidst a time of such uncertainty. On the whole, the team at Nicholls & Co has performed exceptionally well this past financial year with some outstanding results. In the past financial year we have operated in 15 suburbs, truly showcasing our exceptional ability in marketing. As the financial year came to a close, we saw strong and steady Auction clearance rates across the board in Sydney, consistently sitting in the mid to high 80% range. However, not surprisingly, Auction clearance rates for our core area of the Inner West region of Sydney consistently remained one of the highest clearance rates week in week out. There is a great attraction to the area with properties selling faster than ever before. Business talk aside, my wife and I welcomed our second daughter into the world in November 2020, Lily James, which was by far the highlight. My work family also grew with the addition of Arthur Syrios and Tanvi Karavadra. Arthur has exceptional talent in the sales space and Tanvi is applying her superior skills in marketing by steering the ship with all of our digital and creative work. On April 15th I co-hosted a charity golf day for MS Australia at Concord Golf Club that saw the likes of Kerrie-Anne Kennelly, Peter Sterling and Mitchell Moses to name just a few attend and what a fantastic day that was. Sydney Property Market during the COVID-19 Pandemic - Statistics Since Stage 4 lockdowns were eased last year Sydney house prices grew the fastest of all our capital cities at 15.7%. Sydney properties increased 0.6% over the lockdown from June 2021, up 2.3% over the month to July and 15.1% this year alone. Sydney property values have only recently exceeded their previous 2017 peak levels. Sydney dwelling values are up by 15.0% in the past year.
