LOWER SCHOOL EXPERIENCE
F ull-day Kindergar ten through Grade 4
An empowering all-girls environment with over 150 years of experience educating curious young women who blossom into creative, confident and open-minded female leaders.
Step through the Red Doors and start a journey of endless possibility. Once a young girl enters the Red Doors of Sacred Heart Academy, she is welcomed into a loving community. She will be known and loved, and her learning will be filled with wonder, friendships, and mindful support. Each day she will develop and grow into her most brilliant and brave self. Passionate Sacred Heart educators will guide her curious mind through a personal education that keeps the fun in learning, while exceeding performance benchmarks for independent schools. A literature-rich academic environment will foster a love of reading, writing, and public speaking. Math will be mastered through a flexible, handson program that encourages confident and strategic thinking. A progressive science curriculum promotes learning through discovery, helping students think like scientists who explore the world around them. Collaboration on project-based instruction supports community-driven learning within Kindergarten — Grade Four, expanding minds and friendships.
the
5 goals of a Sacred Heart education:
FAITH
A structured mindfulness-based curriculum teaches skills for self-confidence, effective verbal communication, and enhanced self-esteem. Enrichment programs include French, music, violin, physical education, and art — subjects that nurture creativity and spark new talents and interests, encouraging the wonder of childhood. Religious studies focus on faith and foster in each child an understanding of the power of God’s love while nurturing social awareness and concern for others. Kindergarten — Grade Four community-building activities through service reinforce this mission, and Grade Two prepares for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Eucharist. Prayer services, communion services, reflection time, and First Friday liturgies encourage spirituality among members of the community. At Sacred Heart, your daughter will receive a stellar education, make friendships that last a lifetime, and strengthen her brave heart so she can boldly go far.

During this special ceremony, girls are recognized for achievement and effort in their studies. The ceremony recognizes two girls for their work as a community member and honors them with the Courtesy Medal — a medal they wear until the following Friday. » One of our favorite days of the year, Congé is an annual school holiday planned by high school student leaders. The day is kept a secret until announced that morning, and students enjoy Kindergarten — Grade Twelve community-building activities and celebrate a day of no classes.
