UNDERGRADUATE PROJECTS // PROVINCE PUBLIC LIBRARY PROJECT NAME: Public Library, 2016 LOCATION: Trabzon, Turkey Libraries are one of the most classical and oldest architectural forms, yet they also need to keep up with technological advances of the modern age. In this regard, wood and concrete were used side by side to tie the bygone times to the current one. Interior design and planning of the project came into existence by inspiration from typical façade of the existing building, thus harmony between the interior design and the façade was regarded. The dynamic pattern of the façaede had transformed into the grids which are growing and shrinking based on the idea of intersection of the past and the future. These intersections had created the plan schemes and had been highlighted with materials.

COMPETETION PROJECTS // TILE DESIGN COMPETETION Project Name: 3th Zeki Yurtbay Design Awards, Participant, 2015 It is believed that the Tree of Life stays green during all four seasons and that as long as it stays green, earthly life keeps going. Thus, it also represents live for me. This tree that connects the surface of the earth with its interior layers has been the symbol of both the nature and universe for centruies. Thus, in the tile design competition which is about nature, the tree of life has been my starting point as an abstraction and for realization. The thick line passing through the middle of the ceramic was specifically branched to imitate the trunk of the tree. Monochrome coloring was also utilized to better from a consept of life and death.
