Location : Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China

Time : 2019

The project is located in Chengdu, a city with a long history and abundant resources. The park is a semi-public park attached to a high-end residential area. By 2020, the coverage rate of urban greening will be 45%, and the per capita green area of parks will be 15 square meters.

Urban residential groups have beautiful environment and complete supporting facilities. Highend clubs are all over the urban area. Self-sufficient and small circles of "castle-style" leisure mode dominate. Cities do not lack "green" and "leisure places. In 2018, the permanent population of Chengdu was 16.33 million, and the registered population of Chengdu accounted for 90%. Chengdu is still a multi-ethnic mixed city. How to make all social strata live in harmony and build an international modern new city will be a long-term issue facing the city.

CONCLUSION

Some of the surrounding parks have many artificial and man-made landscapes and are commercially operated for profitable holiday development

-Wetland parks should make reasonable use of the current situation, carry out green design in a comprehensive manner, and explore a variety of operational methods to achieve sustainable economic, social and environmental development

Most of the existing parks in the vicinity are ornamental, with prominent attractions, and the environment does not easily adapt to changes in public activities and lacks interaction with urban life

-The design theme of the wetland park should be distinct from the surrounding parks, highlighting the use of modern and artistic installations and encouraging the public to use the space creatively

The surrounding parks are mostly attraction and resort style parks, which do not easily adapt to the changing activities of the public and lack interaction with urban life

Analyze the connection between the base and the community. Conclusion: The greening of the community and the base form a unified layout. The north side of the base needs overall accessibility. 1 2 1. Vehicular line of sight analysis Tianfu Avenue and Wuhan Road East are fast arterial roads and the area adjacent to them should be designed as a whole with the surrounding area. A coherent and continuous urban interface should be created. 2. Pedestrian line of sight analysis Pedestrian behaviour is at a slow walking scale, from a pedestrian viewing perspective. Ornamental plants or attractions should be designed around the base. 1 2 Currently, there are two fish ponds distributed on the south side of the base. Considering the nature of wetland green space, they can be modified and utilized. The fish ponds on the west side echo the ecological corridor. It can be used for landscape treatment, but the current water system is relatively simple and lack of liquidity, which is not conducive to biological diversity and wetland green space. 1 2

Current Situation and Solutions

Question 1. The current situation of the intersection between the south section of Tianfu Avenue and the east section of Wuhan Road is high and abrupt; Scheme: Planting characteristic landscape forest to weaken the steep slope;

Question 2. The intersection of Shuzhou Road and East Wuhan Road is in an important position, so how to create an important landscape node?

Scheme: set up the green entrance to focus on building, including partial characteristic retaining wall, characteristic planting to beautify the city display surface;

Question 3. How to create functional and visual interfaces of important cities based on the current situation;

Scheme: Wuhan Road urban exhibition surface retains the original natural rocks, while strengthening the space for plants, density and good.

Question 4. How to organically connect the project land with the surrounding plot environment and road section in terms of traffic and sight.

Scheme: Wuhan Road display surface, jinjiang East 42 Road is planned to open green entrance, and greenway is set to run through the green space horizontally to form an organic connection with the surrounding area.

Question 5. How to make use of the current water system to create ecological landscape;

Scheme: Transform and beautify the original water system to become a landscape node, and at the same time provide good rainwater collection and channelling, to create an ecological landscape.

Definding Urban Identity through Arts-led Urban Regeneration

Location : Newcastle upon Tyne, UK

Time : 2022

An action team led by DCMS would report by April 1999 on:

• Best practice in using arts, sport and leisure to engage people in poor neighbourhoods, particularly those who may feel most excluded, such as disaffected young people and people from ethnic minorities;

• How to maximise the impact on poor neighbourhoods of Government spending and policies on arts, sport and leisure.

• To draw up an action plan with targets to maximise the impact of arts, sport and leisure policies in contributing to neighbourhood regeneration and increasing local participation.

What we want to see happen

Participation in the arts and sport has a beneficial social impact. Arts and sport are inclusive and can contribute to neighbourhood renewal. They can build confidence and encourage strong community groups.

This project site is located East of the city centre and on the North side of the River

Tyne in Newcastle. Though very much part of Newcastle, originally it was outside of the city walls (to the east) and part of Byker which was a separate township. Ouseburn

Central is located within Newcastle’s Urban Core, which is defined as the cultural and economic heart of the city.

United Kingdom

The Ouseburn forms part of a continuum with the Quayside that is broadly defined by historic legacies, valley, topography and riverside setting. Mixed uses of land in the Ouseburn and promoting it as a place to live, work and visit are important to long-term strategic planning at the local level.

The Ouseburn’s recent past has had a focus on the communities that live and work there and slow but steady redevelopment.

*The guarantee of a working space for the artist, the opportunity for the artist to have a studio space and a living space, a professional space but also a living space. So my project is addressing that through movement development, it has housing but it's basically trying to build an architectural option for artists to have a long-term art space. There are open spaces for artists to show their work, and long term stable studios.

Project starts with the involvement of the members of the local communities
