Heart of the South Cruisers purpose statement:

HOT South Cruisers is a growing group with a positive attitude and desires to have fun as we help one another in skills and projects.

Officers President: Michael Blake Vice President: “Big Al” Vanderwerff Secretary: Chris Davis TLCA Rep: Brian Nichols Trail Boss: Jason Braswell

Treasurer: Kyle Massengale President’s Corner Gentlemen, Cruiser Heads and Fellow LC believers, With last year securely in the rear view mirror the new year is well underway. I hope your new year has been full of success and blessings. We have already had a few trail rides in the first quarter of the year with more on the horizon. Not the least of which was Mardi Krawl 2017! I hope you have been able to attend some of them (unlike myself). If not I hope you will check your calendar and schedule one or more for the future. I know there are a lot of rigs that are still going through some winter mods/rebuilds. But most of them should be completed soon and ready for the road/trail. We had another great year of growth for the club last year with our roster growing to well over 50. Which is terrific for a club of our age! But with growth comes challenges. Like meeting everyone's expectations of how the club can serve them, organizing events, communications and sufficient meeting space to name a few. If you have any ideas on how to resolve/help with any of these issue please don't hesitate to communicate your idea to a club officer. A quick update on the Sampson home front finds him almost ready for the road after a year of rehab in the garage. I should be driving him to a meeting real soon. The list of systems to be completed is growing shorter every week. With some success this weekend I might be able to crank him up and drive him around the block. But we shall see how that works out! I hope to see you all at the next meeting! Michael B. <><

Club Outlook I hope this newsletter finds everyone well. We’ve moved to a new quarterly format and I had to change the template a bit to account for it. The dates and times for the upcoming club meetings are on the first page, but covering 3 months now instead of one. Also, rather than repeating club meeting minutes in the newsletter I’ll use this section to highlight what is upcoming in the next quarter, and if needed summarize important old business from the last quarter. Below are just the initial details of upcoming events, please stay tuned to our club Facebook and IH8MUD pages as the logistics get worked out. Upcoming Opportunities for Trail Rides: Ride at the Pride, May 5-7, at Hawk Pride Mtn Offroad Park, Tuscumbia, AL. This one is sponsored by West Tennessee Offroad but the park is open to the public. This is not Toyota specific and is a fairly large event. Details here: https://www.facebook.com/events/989568664496468/ GSMTR, May 15-20, at Windrock ORV Park, Oliver Springs, TN. Several of us are going and there will be plenty of riding, fun, great food, and some awesome prizes! Details here: http://www.stlca.org/gsmtr/ Upcoming Car Show:

Eli’s Block Party, May 20th, Athens, AL. The organizers of this event, which is a charity event for fighting childhood cancer, reached out to us because they want a strong turnout in the offroad category. For those not planning on going to GSMTR that weekend it would be a fun event. https://www.facebook.com/events/1274379659299605/ Time for another Club Wrench Day or BBQ? Would like to do this in June or July, will work out detials at the next club meeting
