NGO Private Nature: Non-Profit Foundation Mission: Supporting the development of rural
communities Main fields of activities: - Training, consultancy, project management, policy development in fields as rural development, public administration development, human resources development and civil society development. Main Target Groups: rural areas – entrepreneurs, NGOs, public administration Staff: 2 offices (Cluj-Napoca and Odorheiul Secuies –a total of 35 people Turnover: around 2 milions Euros / year.

Cluj Napoca is located in North-West region of Romania (Transylvania). Second largest city in Romania (economy and population) after Bucharest. An important academically centre.
Cluj – Napoca is the capital city of Cluj county. Cluj county (rural and urban areas) has several competitive advantages as: Agriculture – Near the Somes and Aries rivers.
Inovation and IT – Investors as Endava, Emerson etc. Industry – Bosch, DeLonghi Education – Babes-Bolyai University (more than 100.000 students) Infrastructure
The rural areas are now in a development phase (supported by EU Funds)
in areas as tourism, agriculture, infrastructure, social capital.
Development of Human Resources through: Boosting the entrepreneurship and supporting social inclusion of vulnerable groups; Delivery of trainings and educational activities;
Empowerment of institutional capacity for the public, private and civil society sectors: Providing expert services to local, regional and central authorities; Training in the field of public administration; Supporting the foundation and development of non-government organizations and other associative forms;
Designing local development strategies and working in specialized structures for the creation of development policies.
Supporting initiatives in the public, private and civil society sectors
Supporting the initiatives coming from citizens, local action groups and encouraging active participation in the creation of public policies ;
Promoting social economy and the community-based economy;
Providing consultancy and assistance in the field of rural development; Supporting the associative processes of the local authorities; Initiating charitable activities.
Facilitating the access to funding opportunities: Providing assistance and consultancy in fundraising and project management; Developing and implementing investments projects, feasibility studies, business plans and marketing studies, technical
projects and financial audit.
Civitas implemented projects aiming to support local farmers to gain more from
their products.
1) Fruits of tradition: The purpose of this initiative is to embrace the farmers and small producers, set an example and provide assistance in making their communities more sustainable and provide local livelihood by taking care for the traditional orchards and by making use of fruit based products. 2) Asociative program – Working with Lunca Somesului Mic Cooperative
and Miere de Câmpie Cooperative (Honey) – one of the goals is to develop small manufactures based on local products / local receipts. (Juices, pickles, honey related products - etc )
 Civitas Foundation aims to support local farmers to enter the market with local
products – processed in small manufactures. Furthermore we want to support the training of young people from rural areas on using traditional processing practices and introducing on the market products with an important added value.
 Civitas Foundation will use and multiply the results of the project in developing
new products based on the local natural resources.
