WHAT IS AN ATOM

• It is the smallest part of anything • It is indivisible • It has a NUCLEUS with PROTONS and NEUTRONS • It has ELECTRONS around the nucleus • You need a super microscope to see it • EVERYTHING is made of atoms, me, you, a table, the sky … • When atoms JOIN TOGETHER, they make MOLECULES • When MOLECULES join together, they make ELEMENTS

You can find water in different forms depending on how joined are their molecules. SOLID WATER Water has a definite shape and volume. Water molecules are joined together. They can’t move. LIQUID WATER Water has not a definite shape, but it has a definite volume. Water molecules can move a bit, but not much GAS WATER Water has not a definite shape or a definite volume.
