Read more IRENA receiving project funding applications until 12 January IRENA is welcoming online applications with project summaries for concessional loans worth USD 50 million from the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) to facilitate Renewable Energy projects in developing countries, in the first of seven funding cycles totalling USD 350 million. Is Barbados ready to save foreign exchange by pursuing an aggressive renewable energy policy? On November 23, 2012 the Fair Trading Commission (FTC) announced the beginning of a consultation on a proposal of Barbados Light & Power (BL&P), to change the conditions under which small producers of Renewable Energy (Solar/Wind) could feed energy into the grid and be compensated for energy in excess of the needs of the producer/ consumer.
