2. FAIRYTALE BALL GOWNS

HOW WE GOT HERE: The Cinderella statement, as we’ve dubbed it, is coming back in style! Ahem, the designers got the message, because the new collections have all the ball gowns you’ll need.

2. ORNATE BEADING

HOW WE GOT HERE: Silk and plain used to be synonymous with timeless and elegant. Beading and embellishments were indulgent. Over the years beading has become more typical on wedding dresses, and, now, it’s becoming more opulent and divine.

3. FLORAL APPLIQUÉS

HOW WE GOT HERE: Flowers are a symbol for new beginnings, so what better to add to a wedding dress, then this touch of nature? Last year’s NYLBFW saw 3D florals, now we’re seeing floral appliqués.

4. CAPES (DETACHABLE ELEMENTS)

HOW WE GOT HERE: It used to be hard enough finding one dress for the big day, and now there’s so many designs and styles to choose from, brides are selecting more than one dress. So, welcome, detachable elements.
