FOR CREATIVE PERFORMANCE

In October 2021, Artistic Director Amy Lam’s 30 years of dedicated service to Celebrity Series came to a close as she resigned her position to bring her considerable talents to the 92nd Street Y in New York. Amy’s calling cards are manifold, but among them include her supreme artistic taste, her knack for seeking out the world’s most exciting artists and pairing them to the perfect worldclass Boston venues, and her deft programming of performances that both satisfy and stretch discerning Boston audiences.

In announcing Amy’s transition to this exciting new chapter, Celebrity Series created the Amy Lam Fund for Creative Performance (an initiative of the existing Innovation Fund) to honor Amy’s legacy, her expansion of multi-disciplinary, cross-genre programming, and ongoing creative initiatives.

Thank you to our Celebrity Series family members who support Amy’s legacy.

Interim Artistic Programmers: Bobby Asher, Karen Brown and

Hanako Yamaguchi

Following Amy’s departure in October 2021, Interim Artistic Programmers Bobby Asher and Hanako Yamaguchi worked with Celebrity Series to program the 2022/23 season, alongside Chief Operating Officer Karen Brown. Bobby Asher, who programmed jazz and contemporary artists for the 2022/23 season, is an independent arts administrator whose work focuses on creating artist programs that meaningfully connect with audiences and communities. And Celebrity Series' own Karen Brown, Chief Operating Officer, stepped in to program our dance engagements for the 2022/23 season.

Please join us in thanking Bobby, Karen, and Hanako for their considerable work in the 2021/22 season that has allowed Celebrity Series to present a robust and exciting 2022/23 season beginning in October 2022.
