Elounda, picturesque fishing village and one of the most exclusive and pleasant on the island, is located in the Mirabelo Bay, in the eastern part of Crete. Until a few years ago, it was prohibited to dive with bottles in Crete. Now that it is no longer prohibited, you can find 24 dive sites with very diverse characteristics in one of the most extended diving areas of all the officially authorized one in Greece.
The crystal clear waters offer a large variety of possibilities: tiered walls, canyons, platforms ... The diversity of the aquatic fauna includes octopus, moray eels, large groupers, lobsters, and sometimes dolphins, stingrays and turtles. Crete also offers a multitude of places of interest with more than 800 Byzantine chapels, one of the most impressive gorge of Europe and beautiful archaeological treasures and antique cities.
