The Cape Campbell vineyard was the first to be planted in Marlborough’s Awatere Valley. Look for notes of blackcurrants, freshly cut herbs, and sea breeze. A small amount of barrel fermentation adds weight and texture.
There is a delightful snow pea and oyster shell edge behind classic Sauvignon Blanc aromatics that suggest blackcurrant and citrus. It is lively and vivacious on the palate with rich fruit through the middle.

Since 1999 Hawkesbridge has collected a cabinet of awards. This new release is yet to feature on the show circuit, however its baked apple and shortbread aromas, impressive fruit concentration and rich, clean-cut finish surpass previous winning releases.
The picturesque Ata Mara vineyard is in the Pisa sub-region, where the soil and climate are ideal for grape growing. This wine has been made almost bone-dry although the finish carries a lick of sweetness; the balance is spot-on.

Gallows Wine Co Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon/ Merlot 2014 Charlie Maiolo grows the grapes and makes the wine, taking it from vine to bottle. Parker Favourite Son Cabernet Sauvignon/ Merlot 2013
This was crafted by the highly espected Kate Radburnd, long-time chief winemaker for Pask. The colour and bouquet are intense and vibrant with masses of leather and blackcurrant on the palate.
The Parker vineyard and winery is in Wrattonbully, which has the same magnificent terrarossa soil as Coonawarra.Cabernet’s blackcurrant aromas are in fine form, backed by subtle leather. The palate is full of Black Forest characters.

Fermenting and maturing Chardonnay in oak is a time-honoured technique, an art and a science. Nine months in older French barrels has allowed the pristine, rich Marlborough fruit to shine in this smooth, deeply satisfying Chardonnay.
Italian-born Pat and Vicki Vasarelli are highly espected vignerons. Their Family Reserve label is saved for the finest parcels of fruit from exceptional vintages; the last time a Shiraz wore it was in 2013. Look for blackberry, plums, nutmeg and dark chocolate notes.
Central Otago has established such a huge name for Pinot Noir that it is easy to forget that Riesling shines there, too. The classic floral aromas are backed by an intriguing suggestion of rain on hot river pebbles. The 2017 New Zealand Wine Society European Wine of the Year is ample, voluptuous and hails from an estate with a long history. First established in the 17th century it has been owned by a number of people, including a Prosecutor of the King in the Bordeaux Parliament. In 1973 it was bought by a family from the Marne who completely restructured the vineyard and renovated the Château. Thanks to the terroir and serious wine know-how, the estate’s wines are exceptional.
