Our activities
The Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services – known as the CCIG – was founded in 1865 by banker Ernest Pictet. Today, it is the third oldest Chamber of Commerce in Switzerland.
For the advancement of all sectors of the economy, the CCIG is active in:
The CCIG is an independent association in conformity with articles 60 et seq. of the Swiss Civil Code. It has a membership of more than 2,000 companies of all sizes and from all sectors. The CCIG voices its position on a variety of issues such as the need for moderate taxation, town and country planning that is conducive to economic development, lighter administrative procedures for users and measures that encourage regional and international exchange.
Our mission To advance commercial enterprise and promote the economy of Geneva, the CCIG has a four-fold mission: • To work towards improving the framework conditions for business activity • To deliver services to companies • To support its members by creating business opportunities • To provide members with information and documentation.
Our services to businesses The CCIG provides the following services: • General commercial information and in particular on customs formalities and tariffs • Legalizing export documentation, issuing ATA Carnets, ChinaTaiwan CPD Carnets, Certificates of origin and CITES certificates • Arbitration and commercial intermediation (for members and nonmembers) • A central resource – address database – with access to members of all Chambers of Commerce in the country • Advisory services for international trade • A documentation centre • Event organization • Secretariat management for associations.

Events In support of its members, the CCIG organizes a variety of events with a particular focus on networking: • The “Evénement économique” is the annual highlight of Genevan business life at which the Chamber awards, together with the Geneva Cantonal Department of regional affairs, economy and health and the Office for the Promotion of Industries & Technologies, the “Prix de l’économie genevoise” and the “Prix de l’innovation”. These prizes recognize outstanding achievements in business performance and innovation. • The General Assembly, followed by the Chamber’s Annual Dinner • The monthly Chamber lunches, which offer an opportunity for members to showcase their companies • The sustainable management meetings • Seminars on specific themes.
